“I am proud to endorse Rafael Espinoza for the District 1 City Council seat. He has the experience and talent to be that community voice that our district needs,” Sandoval said.
Sandoval, a lifelong Coloradan and small business owner who also served two terms in the Colorado Senate, referenced Espinoza’s professional experience as an architect and his personal experience as a community advocate in Northwest Denver. She said Espinoza’s accomplishments show he has been able to help drive productive solutions to conflicts in the past.
“At a time when critical issues such as development are shaping Northwest Denver, Rafael's work with the developers and the community have brought together divergent points of view to find rational, productive solutions. He has a proven ability to resolve conflicts. This ability is especially needed now with the growth of District 1."
“I am proud to receive Sen. Sandoval’s endorsement,” Espinoza said. “I hope to live up to the standard she has set in representing us not only in state and city government, but also as a community leader. Paula recognizes that District 1 is changing and we need Smart Development, not ‘development at any cost.’ ”
