Espinoza, who has championed neighborhood input and collaboration for over a decade and as a North West Denver resident has seen his own neighborhood rapidly expand, will run on a platform of collaborative growth, community representation and trust.
Espinoza, a working architect who started building a life and home in North West Denver over 13 years ago, quickly became an active part of the community through Jefferson Park United Neighbors. During that time he has been a strong advocate for responsible development and has helped to engineer community growth guided by neighborhood collaboration and approval.
Working with neighborhood stakeholders, Espinoza has led numerous resident initiated campaigns, including the compromise with Sports Authority to protect North West Denver neighborhoods from the unmitigated red glow of proposed stadium signage. He further helped lead a neighborhood campaign to work with the Spanos Corporation to ensure their 400 unit apartment complex, the original designs which would have negatively impacted the lives of residents, met with community approval after two years of negotiations. He has also worked with neighbors and
developers to ensure neighborhood integrity and character remained the cornerstone of new projects, creating a pathway to community stability and successful design.
After discussing concerns with members of the community, Espinoza has chosen to ask the people of North West Denver to allow him to help them amplify their voices as the new City Council member for City Council District 1.
